Welcome to our home on the World Wide Web.
La Troupe D'Acteurs du Quercy are based in the South West of France, in the ancient region of Quercy Blanc.
Our productions are presented usually in English but our annual pantomime is produced in a mixture of both English and French!
The web site is intended to introduce ourselves to you and keep everyone informed of our future plans and presentations.
Of course it also allows us to show you what we have accomplished in the past
We are always on the lookout for both new talent as well as backstage assistance and would be pleased to hear from anyone interested in joining the group.
The group was started in 2002 by two couples who had been in the same acting group in England together with other interested people in the Montaigu de Quercy area. You can read more about the groups inception on our history page.
Their first production, penned by a member of the troupe was a murder mystery entitled
"The Murder Raquet"
Such was the success of the play and the curry supper that was provided with it, that the troupe has continued to provide a supper for one night of each productions run.
Since those early days - when rehearsals were held in members houses and costumes were borrowed from friend's wardrobes - the troupe has gone from strength to strength, assisted immensely by the kind assistance of the Mairie of Montaigu de Quercy who allows us use of the salle de fete to stage our productions - in particular the pantomime - free of charge.
Other troupe events such as quiz nights and auditions are held in the salle de fete at Toufailles.
Members of the troupe - and the audiences - are from the villages and towns surrounding the town of Montaigu de Quercy.
The matinee peformances of the annual pantomime has proved to be a big hit with the local schools, who have taken this peculiarly "English" form of entertainment to heart. The children even drag their parents along to an evening performance!
